It might seem like a world away from compressors, but the core skills – meticulous planning, attention to detail, and ensuring everything runs smoothly – are exactly the same. When I saw the opportunity to bring that experience to this team, I knew it was a perfect fit.
The Jigsaw Puzzle of Efficiency: My Daily Role
My role is all about efficiency. I’m the one who makes sure our field engineers can get to their jobs, equipped with the right parts, and with a schedule that maximises their time. It’s a bit like a giant jigsaw puzzle, but when it all comes together, it’s incredibly satisfying. Managing what can realistically be achieved in a day, and ensuring the correct parts are available is essential to keeping our clients machines running.

My first year wasn’t without its challenges, of course. The introduction of the four-day work week was a big change, and it took some adjusting to get the scheduling right. But we’ve all seen the benefits. It’s improved work-life balance for everyone, and it’s made us even more focused and efficient during our working hours.
Technology as a Tool: Embracing SIMPRO for Streamlined Operations
Another big learning curve for me was getting to grips with SIMPRO. It’s the first time I’ve worked with this kind of software, and it’s been a game-changer. It’s streamlined our processes, improved communication, and given us real-time visibility of our engineers’ schedules. It’s really facilitated more efficient working, and shows that even with a legacy product such as compressors, technology can still make a huge difference.
The Reward of Smooth Operations: Driving Client Satisfaction
Seeing the positive impact of my work on our engineers and, ultimately, on our clients is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that I’m playing a part in keeping their operations running smoothly is what drives me.
